I just scrawled my name on something my mother needed my signature on, and then handed it back to her. She glanced at it and then asked,

“What happened to the pretty cursive you used to have?”

“That’s…my signature, that’s not my writing.”

“It looks like an adult’s signature—argh, you’re growing up!!”

“I’m sorry, Mum!!”
