My mother and I watched Summer Stock together this evening, and I just couldn’t help myself—I went into full fangirl mode and started telling her about how Judy was going through a difficult time during the filming of the movie and that Gene was there to help her through it.

My mother’s exact words?

“Wow. I wish you had told me that years ago; I have a new respect for Gene now.”

Plus she went onto say how good Judy and Gene are together and how talented and dedicated they are and everything along those lines, so by the time the movie was over I was grinning like an idiot because she was praising my babies.
